Terms of use agreement
This Terms of Use Agreement ('Agreement'), along with our Company Privacy Policy, Our Third Party Consent and our Electronic Payment Consent constitutes a legally binding agreement made between YOU, whether personally and/or on behalf of an entity ('user' or 'you'), and ONTACT KOREA and its affiliated companies, websites, and tools (collectively ONTACT KOREA, 'Company' or 'we' or 'us' or 'our'), concerning your access and use of ontactkorea.net websites and services. By signing up on Ontactkorea.net, you consent to this agreement and all our service rules.
ONTACT KOREA may revise its terms and conditions to follow the management policy. In case of revision, you will be notified through email and notice directly on ontactkorea.net.
1. Account Registration and Login
Users may register for an account or access ONTACT KOREA by utilizing Third-Party Services, including but not limited to Kakao or Google. By opting to use a Third-Party login, the User provides consent to the exchange of necessary information between ONTACT KOREA and the relevant Third-Party Service for the purpose of authentication.
Information obtained from the Third-Party Service will be used solely by ONTACT KOREA to establish the User's account, facilitate login, and deliver the services offered. ONTACT KOREA shall not be held liable for the privacy practices, security measures, or policies implemented by the Third-Party Service. Users are advised to review and familiarize themselves with the privacy policies of any Third-Party Services they elect to use for login purposes.
2. Package arrival
Once you start using our service, you must comply with our process. It implies adding your space code at the end of our address when purchasing and shipping packages to our warehouse. The package will automatically be updated to your space by us (Including its arrival date, picture, tracking number, weight and extra charge in case of return or customs charges)
Packages without a space code are stored separately. They can be claimed through the "Find my tracking number" page. After double-checking, we will update the package to your space. If no claim is made within 90 days of the package's arrival date, the package will be disposed of
ONTACT KOREA is not responsible for any delivery mistakes by the carrier or the seller. Pickup at a shared box or convenience store is not possible (Bantaek). You must check the delivery method before purchasing.
3. Overseas packages sent to our address
ONTACT KOREA accepts packages from overseas. In that case, you must contact us beforehand so we can guide you through the process. If customs fees are charged upon arrival, they will be attached to the designated package. They will appear as an 'extra charge' and will be payable during the shipping request checkout.
4. Storage fee
1. 90 days free storage 'Standard Plan'
The first 90 days of storage are free for each new package (Calculated with the arrival date). You should request shipping for that package before the end of the 90 days free storage period. This is the basic setting of each new customer account on ontactkorea.net, and it is referred to as 'Standard Plan'.
Under the 'Standard Plan', overdue packages will be disposed of without notice after 90 days without requesting shipping.
2. Premium Membership
For users who choose the Premium Membership option, the packages will remain free of charge during 365 days. After the end of a membership, all packages at the space go back to the standard 90 days of free storage. Membership payment is done strictly in USD only. Membership subscription does not exempt from paying Shipping Request in the 30 days time-frame.
Premium Membership is not eligible for refund and cannot be put on hold.
5. Custom order service
1. Custom Order Requests
When using our custom order service, you must comply with our process. This implies that items will not be secured, unless we provide a notice stating otherwise, if we don't receive payment beforehand. We can refuse a purchase if we think it is not shippable.
Orders from Bunjang can not be handled through the custom order service and should be made through the Bunjang Store on our website.
Due to the warehouse location (Busan), we are unable to attend physical stores and events. This rule can have exceptions depending on the event location and possibilities. ONTACT KOREA team will inform its community of any changes.
2. Custom Order Payments
Custom order request payments can be made both in KRW and USD. The standard payment deadline is 24 hours after the invoice is issued. This deadline can be adjusted according to customer's needs and purchase event purposes.
3. Custom order cancelation
Customers can cancel the custom order anytime before we start reviewing the request. Once the payment deadline has passed without payment, our platform will automatically cancel the request.
If an item(s) is sold out, we will apply the cancellation method* you choose when making the request.
In case of cancellation by the official shop or seller, purchase refund will operate in direct refund for USD payment (to the original payment method) or KPoints in case of KRW payment.
*Partial cancelation: Cancel the sold-out item(s) only and refund by points or direct refund.
*Total cancelation: Cancel and refund the complete order by points or direct refund.
6. Bunjang Store
1. Bunjang Store cancelation
If a Bunjang seller cancels a transaction, a full refund will be issued in USD to the original payment method used by the customer.
Once the payment is completed, buyers cannot cancel the order or get a refund.
2. Bidding
Buyers may opt to participate in a bid raise if the seller requests a higher price. Any additional payment will be added to the order upon arrival at the warehouse and will be payable via the shipping invoice.
3. Bunjang Store return / exchange
Bunjang orders are not eligible to return or exchange in any cases.
4. Bunjang Order Delivery Policy
Please note that losses or issues caused by domestic shipping carriers or incorrect addresses by seller mistake are not eligible for refund or exchange.
7. Package information
When a package enters your digital space, you need to enter its content for it to be available for shipping. Product name, quantity, category, and unit price (in $) are used for shipping purposes only, not content checking. Without content entry, packages will not be available for shipping. ONTACT KOREA is not responsible for falsely declared information.
8. Shipping Request
1. False information
By using our shipping service, you must comply with our process. To get your items packed, you must choose the tracking numbers you want to be packed and fill out the address. We cannot take any responsibility for false information. This applies to all information: delivery address, tracking number, package content, total value, etc. If there is an address mistake, we can reject the request.
2. Request cancelation
Once you complete your request, a shipping order number will be issued automatically. You can cancel the request before we verify it, but once the request is confirmed, you cannot cancel or modify it.
3. Shipping Payment
Our platform allows payment in KRW and USD. You have 30 days to complete payment for your shipping request. If you do not complete payment within those 30 days, the repacked box will be disposed of. Shipping payment deadline does not equal storage. Therefore, users holding a Premium Membership should also comply with the 30 days deadline rule.
9. Custom Clearance
According to each country and shipping carrier's policies, you may be charged customs tax upon package arrival. It is your responsibility to pay this tax to release your package from customs.
In case of any customs clearance problem due to inaccurate total value, you should provide your order(s) receipt(s) (Ontact Korea extra handling fee can apply). If there is any continuous problem due to inappropriate value and information, Ontact Korea has the right to modify the total value to provide accurate information for custom clearance. If the problem happens continuously, ONTACT KOREA has the right to stop providing you shipping service.
Import tax payment denial
Ontact Korea is a logistics agency responsible for the receipt and shipment of your goods.
Please note that customs duties and taxes are not fees imposed by our company;they are charges levied by the destination (country you are shipping your packages to) of your items. Ontact Korea is not liable for any issues relating to refusal of payment of duties and taxes.
Ontact Korea is not liable for any issues resulting from non-payment of these duties and taxes. Therefore, it is imperative that these charges are paid by the specified deadline.
In the event that the shipping company contacts the sender due to refusal to pay taxes, Ontact Korea reserves the right to initiate legal action to recover the outstanding payments from the individual who refused to settle the tax. Any complications arising for the recipient as a result will not be the responsibility of Ontact Korea.
All duties, taxes, and related charges arising from the recipient's refusal to pay customs duties and taxes will be advanced by ONTACT KOREA and subsequently billed to the customer. If the customer fails to settle the invoiced amount by the due date, we may suspend acceptance and release of the customer's subsequent shipments.
10. Repack service
All packages are consolidated with tape to avoid as much damage as possible. Any damage during shipping is not ONTACT KOREA's responsibility.
11. Shipping prices estimation
Our estimated shipping fee calculator is updated every day according to the shipping carriers calculation system. We can only give accurate prices after your final box is made. The final price of your box may differ from the estimation.
12. Prohibited items
By using our services, you agree to be responsible for the items you ship. We have the right to refuse to ship an item classified as dangerous, hazardous, illegal, or prohibited. UPS LIST, FEDEX LIST, and EMS LIST. If any item is returned to the warehouse or confiscated by customs, we do not hold any responsibility nor offer any refund.
13. Returned package
1. Return from Destination or Transit Country
In the event that delivery cannot be completed due to reasons including, but not limited to, incorrect addresses, failed delivery attempts, or customs-related issues (such as payment denial or prohibited items), packages may be either returned to the sender or disposed of in accordance with the policies of the carrier at their local facility.
Upon receipt of notification from the carrier regarding a returned package, ONTACT KOREA will inform the Customer. However, ONTACT KOREA shall not be liable for any packages that are discarded or returned if the Customer fails to take timely action in accordance with the carrier's instructions.
Customers shall bear full responsibility for all costs associated with returned packages. ONTACT KOREA does not cover shipping or return fees. Such costs may include, but are not limited to:
- Import fees
- Customs duties
- Customs handling fees
- Taxes
- Return shipping charges
- Re-delivery costs
All fees must be paid directly to the carrier or reimbursed to ONTACT KOREA if charged on the Customer's behalf. For assistance, Customers may contact ONTACT KOREA at ontactkorea@gmail.com.
2. Return Due to Denial at Incheon Airport
If a shipment is denied at Incheon Airport due to prohibited items (commonly including, but not limited to, batteries or other restricted goods as specified by the shipping carrier), the following procedures shall apply:
a. Removal of Prohibited Items
ONTACT KOREA staff will remove prohibited item(s) from the shipment to enable the remaining contents to be forwarded using the original shipping carrier. The removed item(s) will be recorded as a new entry in the Customer's ONTACT KOREA account storage space, with any applicable return fees applied. Shipping fees, including the total paid or any difference, are non-refundable.
b. Submission of New Shipping Request
Customers wishing to receive the prohibited item(s) must submit a new shipping request through their ONTACT KOREA account and pay for a carrier that permits the shipment of such items. Applicable return fees will be reflected at the shipping request checkout.
ONTAC KOREA shall not be responsible for any delays, additional costs, or restrictions arising from the shipping carrier's prohibited item policies.
14. Payment
1. Payment method
All services are payable in KRW and USD. KRW payments are made separately using WISE. When paying in KRW, you should provide proof of payment (through our platform) and wait for us to verify the payment. USD payments are handled by Payletter, which allows PayPal and credit card payments.
2. Other currencies
ONTACT KOREA takes no currency other than Korean Won and US Dollars.
15. Kpoints Balance
A point method is available on our website. Those points act as digital currencies and can be used for any transaction on our websites. Points will expire five years from the date they were earned. K-POINTS is a credit that you can use for KRW(₩) payment only.
16. Ontact Korea Insurance
ONTACT Korea Insurance only applies if the delivery company loses the box during delivery Ontact Korea's insurance service compensates users for the product's value and the shipping fee within the limit.
If the shipping company loses the box while shipping, 'Ontact Korea' first requests that the shipping company make a claim as a sender. If the claim is not accepted for any reason, you can make a claim for compensation through Ontact Korea's insurance service. This is possible regardless of whether the shipping company is compensated or not. To make a claim, you need to inform us about the lost box and apply for compensation. The application path is ontactkorea@gmail.com.
- Compensation limit 100% delivery fee, total value 100% (only maximum compensation 500USD, 500,000 KRW)
- The compensation will be issued as Ontact Korea points if the original payment was made in KRW, or as a direct USD payment if the original payment was made in USD.
- Shipping fee is a payment method paid by the user
- The value of the product is paid in USD points
- Only loss during delivery is applicable, and loss after arrival at the destination is not applicable.
- Compensation is only possible if lost, and compensation for damage during delivery is not included
- Insurance is per box in the request and is subject to the request for payment of insurance costs
- Someone must inform you about the lost box and apply for compensation. Application path ontactkorea@gmail.com
- The insurance claim period is up to 6 months after the package of the delivery request is delivered and when the insurance fee is paid.
Ontact Korea is capable of tracking delivery and has the right to refuse the delivery application or terminate the use of the Ontact Korea warehouse if the user applies for compensation even though the item has been delivered to the user. This is to ensure that claims are made in a timely manner and to prevent misuse of the insurance service.
17. End of using the service
1. Deleting account
You have the right to delete your account by setting up your dashboard. After account deletion all information will be deleted and remaining stored packages disposed of (Discarded).
2. Banned
ONTACT KOREA holds the right to stop giving access to service to any customer that doesn't comply with our rules. The team will contact the customer to prepare for the exit of their remaining packages. Customer's account on ontactkorea.net will also be deleted. After this ban, any package coming from this customer will be discarded immediately without notice by Ontact Korea.
3. Package disposal policy (Discard)
ONTACT KOREA has the right to dispose of any package that doesn't comply with our rules: A customer that has not requested shipping of their package within 90 days (excluding users under the Premium Membership) will see their package disposed of. No shipping fee payment within 30 days or packages stored without a space code for more than 90 days will also face disposal. Furthermore, once a package is disposed of (Discarded), you cannot reaccess or claim it again.
